OUR SURGEONS
Our dedicated surgeons, Dr. Francis D. Chionchio and Dr. Trina Sengupta, are highly skilled with years of training and experience. Equally important as their surgical skills are their gentle, caring and patient demeanors, which make them excellent surgeons for anxious patients. Our surgeons believe that the more a patient knows about a procedure, the less anxious he or she will be. Most anxious patients are treated with nitrous oxide or conscious sedation.
Dr. Chionchio and Dr. Sengupta take the time to explain the procedures in detail and invite questions. They also have the skills, the knowledge, the experience, and the personality to make your visit as pleasant and comfortable as possible.

Trina Sengupta, DMD
Dr. Trina Sengupta grew up in central New Jersey with a strong desire to become a dentist since she was in middle school. Spending time in the dental chair herself along with volunteering throughout high school at her oral surgeon's office only validated that this profession was the right one for her. Dr. Sengupta received a scholarship for academic achievement to Canisius College in Buffalo, NY where she obtained her B.S. in Biology. Following four years in Buffalo, she headed to Philadelphia to attend the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
Following graduation, it was important for Dr. Sengupta to further her dental education and improve her clinical skills to excel in her profession. To accomplish her goals, she completed a 1-year general practice residency at Philadelphia Veterans Administration Medical Center, treating and managing patients with various medical concerns in a hospital environment. At that point, she decided to continue her pursuit for specialization in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She completed an internship at University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago, IL followed by a 4 year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Sengupta is a board-certified surgeon by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. She holds active membership in AAOMS, NYSSOMS, ADA, and NYSDA. She also firmly believes that dental education does not stop after the completion of residency and actively pursues multiple continuing education opportunities every year.
Dr. Sengupta is also an attending and holds privileges at Jamaica Hospital and Mt. Sinai Medical Center.
